How Eisenhower Solved Illegal Broder Crossing from Mexico...

"One of Swing's first decisive acts was to transfer certain entrenched immigration officials out of the border area to other regions of the country where their political connections with people such as Senator Johnson would have no effect.

Then on June 17, 1954, what was called "Operation Wetback" began. Because political resistance was lower in California and Arizona, the roundup of aliens began there. Some 750 agents swept northward through agricultural areas with a goal of 1,000 apprehensions a day. By the end of July, over 50,000 aliens were caught in the two states. Another 488,000, fearing arrest, had fled the country.
By mid-July, the crackdown extended northward into Utah, Nevada, and Idaho, and eastward to Texas.
By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 illegals had left the Lone Star State voluntarily.
Unlike today, Mexicans caught in the roundup were not simply released at the border, where they could easily reenter the US. To discourage their return, Swing arranged for buses and trains to take many aliens deep within Mexico before being set free.
Tens of thousands more were put aboard two hired ships, the Emancipation and the Mercurio. The ships ferried the aliens from Port Isabel, Texas, to Vera Cruz, Mexico, more than 500 miles south..."

Sophie's Rant

It is said that socialism is the equal distribution of misery, but I would argue that it is also the equal distribution of stupidity. Since we cannot ‘redistribute’ intelligence and knowledge, we have to dumb down everyone else to the level of the least-common denominator.
We hire stupid teachers, give them tenure, and they teach our kids pressing subjects on gender, race, and other grievances, along with the cause du jour, because being stupid is the best way to insure another generation of stupidity while kids in Japan, China, and South Korea are learning to kick our stupid ass.
We hire presenters, who invite stupid talking heads on their shows to mock others about topics on which they obviously know little to nothing while deeming those they mock to be stupid.
We not only elect stupid politicians, who believe that Guam may tip over or Neil Armstrong planted an American flag on Mars, we morons and moronettes BEG them to make the decisions concerning our healthcare, children, housing, finances, contracts, relationships, transportation, food, drugs, security, etc, for us.
We punish success and honour failure because we are stupid.
We frown upon work and promote mooching because we are stupid.
We consider classical goals of real education, enlightenment, and intelligence to be passĂ© while American Idol, ‘The Preezy of the United Steezy,’ Honey Boo-Boo, Girls, the Kardashians, etc, are the epitome of culture and attainment because we are stupid.
We denigrate the responsible ownership of guns, but champion pot smoking because we are stupid.
We snort at a culture of life, but embrace a culture of death because we are stupid.
We celebrate shameful liars and laugh at ‘squares’ because we are stupid.
We rush to blame and label as terrorists an entire group of people for merely invoking the tried and true principles upon which this country was founded, but are willfully blind, suspend disbelief, and seek to be held hostage to the increasing demands made by members of a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, child-abusing, xenophobic, tribalistic, antisemitic, Christophobic, maniacal, homicidal, suicidal, totalitarian, 7th century death cult because we are stupid.
We twice elect as President a man, who claims to be a champion of the middle class, but has eviscerated it and enriched those very ‘fat-cats’ he claims have unfair advantages, lies to the American people constantly, and blames America for problems in other countries while he is in them, as though he is some Frenchman and not the American that he claims, and overlooking the role he has played, because we are stupid.
We seriously doubt that 35 year-old, educated, financially-secure women are equipped to make decisions about the type of health insurance policies that would best serve their needs, but are convinced that 15 year-old girls are mature, intelligent, and informed enough to make decisions about birth control because we are stupid.
We spend billions on faerie-tale green energy projects that go bankrupt and have shown no real ability to deliver producible energy sources in commercial quantities and send hundreds of billions overseas to petro-basketcases, who are our enemies or fund them, while we have enough proven reserves in oil to last 100 years and natural gas to last at least 200 because we are stupid.
We borrow trillions from countries like China, pay them interest, and then send money to fund projects in the form of stimulus or foreign aid to those same countries because we are stupid.
We believe that trees and animals are people with rights, but corporations are not because we are stupid.
We believe that children are better off aborted because humans are bad for the environment and we can ‘import our kids’ like they did in Europe, which has worked out so well for them, because we are stupid.
We believe that drains have more of a right to immigrate to the United States because they come from the formerly colonialised world and we owe them than the brains from those countries that might have been colonialisers because we are stupid.
We believe that maintaining our borders is racist but every other country on the planet should have a right to decide who gets to visit, work, and/or live in theirs because we are stupid.
We believe that government spending is capitalism without the evils like greed, cronyism, and corruption, like real capitalism because we are stupid.
We believe that salad bowls are better than melting pots because we are stupid.
We believe that the best forms of government and economics are those that have failed repeatedly while routinely denouncing our own, which have sustained the most freedom and prosperity in the history of the world, because we are stupid.
Frankly, as a country, we are too broke to be so stupid.

Russia: More Weapons for Syria...

Russia:"Syria Will Be Armed With Weapons That Have Never Been Seen Before In the Middle East"
So another losing proxy war for America...

Mac Salvo:

Last week, Noble Peace Prize winner President Barrack Obama advised that his administration would be arming the Free Syrian Army with weapons to resist the armies of Syria’s President Bashar Assad. Furthermore, they would look to implement a Libya-style no-fly zone over the country, which like Libya, would likely involve widespread carpet bombing of suspected military strongholds and control centers.
With boots on the ground around Syria’s borders, the United States is without a doubt preparing for widespread engagement across the region yet again, with the aim of the new U.S. supplied weapons being more killing and destruction in a civil war that has left tens of thousands dead in the last year.
It is the assumption of the Obama administration that these weapons will tip the scales of power in favor of the rebels, many of whom have been identified as members of America’s arch enemy, Al Queda.
But Russia’s KGB-hardened President Vladimir Putin has other ideas.
This week, according to a British intelligence report, Putin reportedly passed on a diplomatic communique to the United States and France using British Prime Minister David Cameron as the intermediary.

The World's Largest Hotel, Which Has Never Had One Guest: KdF Prora, The Mein Kampf Summer Resort (Photo Essay)

Secret Nazi files have been found that reveal how Hitler wanted his party to become the world’s largest tour operator with holiday camps modelled on the British ‘Butlins’ chain.

The long-lost plans for a chain of 'super-resorts' accommodating 20,000 holidaying Nazis at a time were found in the state archive of Greifswald in north-east Germany.

One of the papers revealed how the Nazis envisioned 'British holiday camps designed to provide affordable holidays for the average worker'.

The bundle of 62-pages outlined plans from Dr Robert Ley, the Nazi head of the German Labour Front, for the sprawling Prora resort.

The concrete complex on the Baltic island of Ruegen was the only holiday camp actually built under the project and stands to this day.But the 2.5 miles of empty sea-facing flats never had a single holidaymaker stay in them as the war came along just weeks before the first tourists were due to arrive.

Bloomberg's Gun-Control Web site Registered to NYCity...

Bloomberg's gun control website registered to New York city

Rick Moran
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's anti-gun group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, is registered to the city of New York and is run using city staff and city servers.
Yet the group's "action fund," through which he has piped at least $14 million of his own money in ads over gun control this year alone, is registered as a 501c4, a nonprofit "social welfare" group with the same tax status as, say, the Karl Rove-linked Crossroads GPS or Organizing for Action, President Obama's grassroots arm. And it raises questions about why a website associated with the group is being managed by City Hall.
In fact, the various pieces of the mayor's efforts appear as a confusing muddle online, with sites that are ostensibly not part of the 501c4 nonetheless being visually dominated by entreaties to click through to the ones that are. There's little indication that these are different entities with different oversight.
At minimum, the use of a city web server and city employees underscore what critics have long derided as a blurring of the lines between government resources and Bloomberg's own multi-billion-dollar fortune, his company, and his pet interests in his three terms as mayor.
Bloomberg aides strenuously pushed back on questions of propriety, insisting that there is a distinction between MAIG - which is the "broad coalition of 950 mayors" -- and the MAIG "action fund," which is the 501c4. The mayoral coalition, they argued, fits within the legislative priorities of Bloomberg's administration.
"Mayor Bloomberg is the co-chair of the coalition of Mayors Against Illegal Guns," said John McCarthy, a City Hall-based spokesman for Bloomberg who also handles elements of the group's media output.
Positively incestuous. And why isn't the IRS looking at Bloomberg's non-profit group for outright political activity? He has threatened congressmen and senators with defeat at the polls unless they vote his way on guns. Are we to believe these ads are "social welfare" spending?
The IRS was skeptical when it came to Tea Party groups. Apparently, some "social welfare" spending is more equal than others.

Secret Laws, Secret Court Rulings...

"How can a court rule the US government is violating the Constitution in its domestic spying & the ruling is secret?"

By  | June 13 2013 1:32 AM
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, or FISC, ruled Wednesday that it has no objection to the release of a 2011 opinion of the court, which found that some of the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs under the FISA Amendments Act, were unconstitutional.

Where was the Tea Party?

Being suppressed by the DNC & the IRS while Obama stole the election, that's where...

Peggy Noonan:
One of the great questions about the 2012 campaign has been “Where was the tea party?” They were not the fierce force they’d been in the 2010 cycle, when Republicans took back the House. Some of us think the answer to the question is: “Targeted by the IRS, buried under paperwork and unable to raise money.”
The economist Stan Veuger, on the American Enterprise Institute‘s blog, takes the question a step further.
The Democrats had been badly shaken by the Republican comeback of 2010. They feared a repeat in 2012 that would lose them the White House.
Might targeting the tea-party groups—diverting them, keeping them from forming and operating—seem a shrewd campaign strategy in the years between 2010 and 2012? Sure. Underhanded and illegal, but potentially effective.
Veuger writes: “It is a well-known fact that the Tea Party movement dealt the president his famous “shellacking” in the 2010 midterm election. Less well-known is the actual number of votes this new movement delivered—and the continuing effects these votes could have had in 2012 had the movement not been demobilized by the IRS.”
The research paper Veurger and his colleagues have put out notes that, in Veuger’s words, “the Tea Party movement’s huge success [in 2010] was not the result of a few days of work by an elected official or two, but involved activists all over the country who spent the year and a half leading up to the midterm elections volunteering, organizing, donating, and rallying. Much of these grassroots activities were centered around 501(c)4s, which according to our research were an important component of the Tea Party movement and its rise.”
More: “The bottom line is that the Tea Party movement, when properly activated, can generate a huge number of votes—more votes in 2010, in fact, than the vote advantage Obama held over Romney in 2012. The data show that had the Tea Party groups continued to grow at the pace seen in 2009 and 2010, and had their effect on the 2012 vote been similar to that seen in 2010, they would have brought the Republican Party as many as 5-8.5 million votes compared to Obama’s victory margin of 5 million.”
Think about the sheer political facts of the president’s 2012 victory. The first thing we learned, in the weeks after the voting, was that the Obama campaign was operating with a huge edge in its technological operation—its vast digital capability and sophistication. The second thing we learned, in the past month, is that while the campaign was on, the president’s fiercest foes, in the Tea Party, were being thwarted, diverted and stopped.
Technological savvy plus IRS corruption. The president’s victory now looks colder, more sordid, than it did. Which is why our editor, James Taranto, calls him “President Asterisk.”

A Summer of Bipartisan Love

The Hill reported that Speaker John Boehner and his lieutenants are facing major legislative hurdles this summer.  "Tests," The Hill calls them.  Or superb chances for capitulations under the ever-handy guise of bipartisanship?
The tests that the speaker faces include, but aren't limited to: "Immigration reform, a five-year farm bill, the constitutionality of the National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance programs, a possible government shutdown and increasing the federal debt limit."

IRS gave special treatment to the Islamic Mafia

http://predicthistunpredictpast.blogspot.com/2013/06/obamas-irs-gave-special-treatment-to.html

"You would think the IRS would make an outfit as sketchy as CAIR jump through hoop after hoop, especially in light of the third degree it gave Tea Party groups.
But it turns out CAIR's also found favor in the White House. Administration officials in 2012 met inside the White House with CAIR officials, according to Secret Service visitors logs.
In the months leading up to the IRS decision, in fact, the Obama administration held "hundreds" of closed-door meetings with CAIR — including many in the White House, according to an article in the Daily Caller posted in early June 2012 — the same month the IRS reversed its decision."

Putin: Are these people you want to support?

Putin Cites Syrian Rebel Mutilation Video: ‘Are These People You Want to Support?"

(CNSNews.com) – On the eve of a G8 summit with Syria high on the agenda, Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a harsh assessment Sunday of the nature of the Syrian rebellion, signaling that Moscow has no intention of softening its opposition to Western support for the anti-Assad opposition.
After talks in London with summit host British Prime Minister David Cameron, Putin did not conceal his strength of feeling about plans by some governments, including the United States, to arm the Syrian opposition.
Russia is a key supporter of President Bashar Assad, and when a reporter during a Downing Street press conference recalled that Cameron had in the past said those supporting the Syrian leader had the blood of Syrian children on their hands, Putin reacted angrily.
He said blood was on the hands of both sides in the Syrian conflict, and alluded to a video clip circulating last month apparently showing a jihadist rebel leader cutting out and making as if to eat the heart of a Syrian soldier.
“I believe you will not deny the fact that one hardly should back those who kill their enemies and, you know, eat their organs and all that is filmed and shot,” Putin said, speaking through an interpreter.
“Are these the people you want to support? Is it them you want to supply with weapons? So, in this case, it has hardly any relation to the communitarian and cultural values that Europe has been professing for centuries. In Russia, we cannot imagine such things happening.”
Cameron conceded that the gap between Russia and the West was wide, but suggested that there were areas of agreement, over the need to reach a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
“You can see there are very big differences between the analysis we have of what happened in Syria and who is to blame,” he said. “But where there is common ground is we both see a humanitarian catastrophe; we both see the dangers of instability and extremism; we both want to see a peace conference and a transition.”
Cameron expressed hope that the G8 leaders meeting in Northern Ireland on Monday would be able to set aside their differences and focus on the areas of agreement regarding the conflict.
Of the G8 members, Britain, France and the United States are most in favor of giving more support to Syrian rebels while Russia is steadfastly opposed.
Germany’s ruling coalition is divided over the matter (foreign minister Guido Westerwelle’s party is skeptical about providing weapons) while Italy is believed to support arming “moderates” among the rebels.
Canada’s conservative prime minister Stephen Harper has for month ruled out arming rebels over fears doing so may benefit extremists among them, although on Sunday he said he understood why others were moving closer to taking such a step, and criticized Russia for continuing to support the regime.
G8 member Japan has focused on humanitarian aid to the opposition, avoiding sending goods that could be diverted to military purposes.
President Obama on Friday night held an hour-long video conference with the leaders of the four European G8 members. The White House said the five “discussed Syria, including the regime’s use of chemical weapons against its own people, and ways to support a political transition to end the conflict.”

‘Don’t arm maniacs’
The atrocity Putin referred to in his Downing Street comments appeared on a video posted online by a pro-Assad group last month. It purported to show a leader of a rebel group known as the “Independent Omar al-Farouq” brigade mutilating a soldier’s corpse and then putting the heart into his mouth.
After reviewing the footage, Human Rights Watch said the Syrian National Coalition and Free Syrian Army – which the U.S. recognizes and supports – “should take all possible steps to hold those responsible for war crimes accountable and prevent such abuses by anyone under their command.”
“Any party with the power to do so should do all it can to keep weapons from reaching the brigade,” Human Rights Watch said.
Britain and France last month prodded the European Union to allow a Syrian arms embargo to expire, a decision that would allow E.U. member states to arm rebels from August 1.
Cameron said Sunday that Britain has “made no decision to arm the rebels, to arm the opposition, but I think it’s very important that we continue to work with them, help them, train and assist them, in order to make sure that we have an influence on the opposition, who I believe want a democratic Syria.”
But with the U.S. moving towards arming the rebels, many Britons expect their government to do so as well, and voices of opposition have been growing – including within Cameron’s Conservative Party.
Among those sounding a warning at the weekend were London mayor Boris Johnson, an influential Conservative, who wrote in a Daily Telegraph op-ed that it would be impossible to arm rebels without weapons reaching “al-Qaeda-affiliated thugs.”
“This is not the moment to send more arms,” Johnson write. “This is the moment for a total ceasefire, an end to the madness. It is time for the US, Russia, the E.U., Turkey, Iran, Saudi and all the players to convene an intergovernmental conference to try to halt the carnage. We can’t use Syria as an arena for geopolitical point-scoring or muscle-flexing, and we won’t get a ceasefire by pressing weapons into the hands of maniacs.”
